LEAD ELECTRIC LINE TECHNICIAN ($48,734 to $73,102) Performs advanced journey level skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of underground and overhead electrical distribution lines. Work involves installation of distribution transformers and associated devices, removal and installation of meters, operation of line and bucket trucks, fault detection devices and assisting in installation and removal of temporary protective grounds on conductors. Subject to on-call and stand-by rotation. Provides leadership, training, mentoring, work quality monitoring and feedback for other electric line staff. Graduation from high school and considerable experience in electric line construction and maintenance work at a journey level, or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a valid NC commercial driver’s license. Possession of certifications as an “Advanced Line Technician” or “Journey Level Line Technician” plus training in the substation repair and maintenance. Must obtain state and federal journey level certifications prior to completion of probationary period.
